King David’s wife Michal accused David of being undignified in public worship. His appearance and actions were not becoming of the king of Israel. David understood the key concept of worship and that is this:
In true biblical worship there is an audience of One. Authentic worship is not seeking to impress others, but is simply seeking to please God alone. We do not perform before an audience of spectators. We worship God alone.
Undignified worship is not concerned about receiving the approval or acknowledgment of those around us, but rather it is worship that does not exalt self or others, but exalts God alone.
Only God is worthy of worship. Undignified worship is not unbiblical worship, rather it is worship based in the Word of God. Worship’s parameters are set by the Bible.
Oh, that more of God’s people would worship Him in freedom that doesn’t worry what others might say or think.
Courtyard Gatherings
Gatherings are an extension of a Sunday morning or other corporate settings of worship as believers. Gatherings are opportunities for Christ followers to be together and engage in a deeper worship encounter with our King. To become even more undignified in worship…to experience a deeper level of relationship with Him through worship…to be undone before Him by emptying out oneself in worship.
